Lawson Metros Akihabara, a convenience store in station kiosks, opens on August 4, 2012! Accepts utility bill payments and credit card payments

The Lawson Metros Akihabara convenience store will open on August 4, 2012.

This is the result of a business tie-up agreement under which a Tokyo Metro group company will convert the "Metros" station kiosk operated by the Tokyo Metro into a Lawson convenience store. Lawson Metros Akihabara Store will open on August 4, Lawson Metros Akasaka-mitsuke Store on August 25, and Lawson Metros Ayase East Exit Store in mid-September as a new type of "station kiosk-type convenience store" that can also respond to inbound demand. Starting with these stores, the company will open the Tokyo Metro Station complex and the Tokyo Metro Station branch. Starting with these stores, the company plans to aggressively expand within Tokyo Metro stations, with the goal of converting approximately 50 stores.

LAWSON METROS" will be a renewal of the existing "METROS" convenience store. In addition to onigiri (rice balls), desserts, original health snacks, and other items, the new convenience store will offer utility bill payment and credit card payment services to increase convenience for the growing number of foreign tourists. In addition, the store offers product descriptions in foreign languages and a lineup of products popular with foreign tourists.

The Akihabara store is located inside Akihabara Station on the Hibiya Line (near the ticket gates at Exit 1 and 2) and has an area of approximately 2.5 tsubo. Business hours are 7:00-22:00 (Saturdays - 20:00), closed Sundays and holidays.
