NoitaminA Film "Empire of the Corpse" Announces Main Visual! The trailer will be screened in theaters from August 1.

Noitamina's "Project Itoh," an anime adaptation of a novel by the late Keisuke Ito to be released in theaters, has unveiled the main visual for "Empire of the Corpse," which will be released on October 2, 2012.

This project is the second noitamina movie following the blockbuster hit "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass the Movie" and is based on the original novels "Slaughterhouse Organ" and "Harmony" by Keigo Ito, who died prematurely in 2009 at the age of 34, and his 30-page preface to the novel, which was written by his close friend and Akutagawa Prize-winning author, Akutagawa Shoichiro. The three novels, "Slaughterhouse" and "Harmony," were written by Akutagawa Prize-winning author Tou Enjou, who is known as a close friend of Keigeku Ito.

The main visual of "Empire of the Corpse," which will be released on October 2, has been unveiled. The main character, John H. Watson, is portrayed by redjuice, the same artist as in "Slaughterhouse Machine" and "Harmony," along with his friend Friday, who becomes a corpse and accompanies Watson on his journey, Captain Frederick Barnaby of the British Imperial Army, who is Watson's chaperon, and a mysterious beautiful woman whom he meets on his journey. Hadley Lillis, the mysterious beauty Watson encounters on her journey, stands in a row with the battlefield in the background. And behind them, a myriad of corpses can be seen.

The trailer will be released in theaters on August 1, when advance tickets with a bonus book cover go on sale. The trailer begins with an important scene in which Watson brings Friday back to life as a corpse, and then shows Watson and his friends traveling around the world in search of "Victor's journal," which created "The One," a corpse with a soul.

Following "Slaughter Organ" and "Harmony," which are currently serialized in the monthly magazine Newtype, a comic book adaptation has been decided and will begin in the October issue of Dragon Age, which will go on sale September 9. Tomoyuki Hino will be in charge of writing the manga.
