Tono City, Iwate Prefecture, releases original short animation "Honoka, the Storyteller Girl! Produced by Ishikawa Productions and starring Noriko Kuwashima

The web animation "Honoka, the Storyteller Girl" has been released.

This is an original animation produced by Tono City in Iwate Prefecture to promote the city. Tono City has many folk tales as typified by Kunio Yanagida's "Tales of Tono," and this short story features Honoka, an elementary school student storyteller who tells the tales of monsters and gods. Of course, the story is set in the actual city of Tono, and the official website (http://honokatari.com/) includes photos of the land and buildings that were used as models.

The director, character design, and animation are by Ishikawa Productions of "Kutsukiboshi" and "Binchotan Independent Movie," the yokai design is by Masami Suda, character designer for "Yokai Watch," and the CV of the main character, Honoka Ohora, is by Houko Kuwashima. The script is by Hidehito Yamaoka, and the rest of the cast includes Yukei Saito as Grandma Oshu/Haruna Abe, Aka Sato as Yuma Nanbu/narrator, Ako Itani as Waka Zashiki Warashi, and Hironori Handa as the teacher.
