YAMAMUSU PEDAL THE MOVIE" collaborates with Kumamon!　Kumamon will appear in the film to liven up the "Kumamoto Fire Country Yamanami Race"!

A collaboration with Kumamon has been announced for the anime film "Yowamushi Pedal the Movie," which will be released on August 28, 2012.

The anime "Yowamushi Pedal" is based on the manga by Wataru Watanabe, which is serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion. It is a sports story about an otaku boy who enters the world of cycling after meeting his friends and aims for the Inter-High School Championships. The total number of copies of the original comics sold exceeded 13 million, and the second TV anime season, "WIMUSHI PEDAL GRANDE ROAD," was broadcast from October to March 2015. In August 2015, the first feature film "YAMUSUME PEDAL THE MOVIE" will be released with a completely new story newly written by the original author.

This time, a collaboration with Kumamon, a character representing Kumamoto Prefecture, where the movie is set, has been decided. Kumamon will appear in the film to enliven the "Kumamoto Fire Country Yamanami Race," a bicycle race in which the main character Onoda Sakamichi and his friends will participate. Kumamon will also cooperate in publicity. The visuals of Kumamon wearing the cycle jersey of the local team "Kumamoto Daiichi High School Cycling Club" that appears in the film and the "Sohoku High School Cycling Club" cycle jersey, which is the same as Sakamichi's, have been created to promote the film throughout the country.
