Best of Director Tsutomu Mizushima" Poll Results Announced! The first place winner is that film, beating out "Galpan"!

Akiba Research Institute's anime portal "Anipota" conducted the "Best of Director Tsutomu Mizushima" poll from July 14 to 31, 2015, and we are pleased to announce the results.



Director Tsutomu Mizushima is a popular director known for his numerous good works, including "Girls und Panzer," which became such a huge hit that it is no exaggeration to say it is a social phenomenon, "Shirobako," which brilliantly depicted the backstage of the anime industry, and "Prison School," which is based on a popular comic currently being broadcast. The popular director Tsutomu Mizushima is known for his numerous good works. We asked Anipota users to vote for the best film directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. The number of valid votes was 2,589. Although it was only a two-week poll, we received a large number of votes, which shows the popularity of director Tsutomu Mizushima. The results are as follows.

Initial predictions were that "Girls und Panzer," which is also a representative work, would take first place, but "SHIROBAKO," a much talked-about work depicting the backstage of the animation industry, took the top spot, surpassing "Galpan.


SHIROBAKO" was highly acclaimed among anime fans, with a score of 4.54 out of 5 in Anipot's work evaluation, making it one or two of the highest rated anime of the 2014 fall season. It is also a work that is slowly gaining recognition among fans, as evidenced by the strong sales of Blu-ray releases after the broadcast, and it is impressive that it was voted No. 1 in this year's poll, beating out Galpan.


The second place went to "Girls und Panzer," which can also be said to be a representative work, and "Another" came in third. Another" is a mystery horror novel written by Yukito Ayatsuji, and its anime version was broadcast from January to March 2012. Director Tsutomu Mizushima is known for his comedies, but this work is a unique mystery horror among his works. It is very interesting that this work received a high number of votes, ranking third among Mizushima's works.


In addition, the latest work "Prison School," which is currently airing, was ranked fifth. Although only four episodes have been aired, the high quality of the drawings and the tempo of the direction are as expected from director Tsutomu Mizushima!
