Intel's new "Skylake" CPUs , the 6th generation Core i series, are now available.

The lineup consists of two models, the Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K.

The Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K are magnification lock-free models that belong to the "Skylake-S" desktop PC model.

The "Skylake-S" series has a new supported platform, with the CPU socket changed to the new LGA1151 CPU socket and the supported chipset changed to the "Intel 100" series, which is no longer compatible with the LGA1150 used from Haswell to Broadwell.
