The results of "THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS" character popularity poll are in! 1st: Rin Shibuya, 2nd: Miku Maekawa, 3rd: Uzuki Shimamura!

Akiba Research Institute's anime portal "Anipota" has conducted the "THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS Character Popularity Poll" from July 24 to August 16, 2015, and here are the results.

THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS" is an anime work based on the social game of the same name for cell phones and smartphones. The first season aired from January to March of this year as a winter anime in 2015, and the long-awaited second season just started on July 17. In the game, players take on the role of a producer in the idol division of 346 (Mishiro) Productions and train the idols selected in the "Cinderella Project," a project to discover new idols. The anime version depicts the struggles of each of the idol eggs in the company.

Since this idol anime originally started as a social game, it was expected that fans would be very particular about their "favorite members" before the voting started, but when the voting actually started, the excitement was even greater than expected and votes were collected one after another for each of their favorite members. In the end, a total of 5428 votes were cast, which is quite a large number.

Among the leading characters, the cool beauty Rin Shibuya showed overwhelming strength. She was the clear winner right from the start of the voting, and remained in first place until the very end.

Following Rin Shibuya in first place was Miku Maekawa, a dark horse in the race. She is a so-called "cat character" who always wears a cat ears and uses "nya" at the end of her words, but perhaps because of her cuteness, she was able to beat out many other strong idols to take second place.

In third place was Shimamura Uzuki, the main character in the anime version. She was thought to be competing with Butei Shibuya for the top spot, but was edged out by Miku Maekawa, who came in second. In fourth place, just 32 votes behind third-place finisher Shimamura Uzuki, was the powerless idol Futaba Anzu.
