The results of the "2010s romance anime based on shoujo manga" popularity poll have been announced! The top-ranked works were Hakusensha's fantasy works!

Akiba Research Institute's anime portal "Anipota" conducted a poll from July 28 to August 23, 2015, titled "2010s Shoujo manga-based romance anime popularity poll", and here are the results. This project nominated 14 anime works of romance based on shoujo manga that were broadcasted relatively recently in the 2010s, and asked the audience to vote for them. The total number of votes was 938.

The winner was "Kami wa Hajimetemashita" (original work: Julietta Suzuki, Hana to Yume). The anime aired in the fall of 2012, and its second season, "Kami hajimetemashita ◎," aired in the winter of 2015 and was well received. The story is a heartwarming romantic comedy about Nanou Momozono, the main character who has become a land god of a shrine, and Tomoe, a messenger of the gods who can be used by her. It can be said that this is a work filled with the charms of shoujo manga.

Following this was "Snow White with Red Hair" (original story by Sorata Akizuki, LaLa), which is currently on air. This is a "prince and princess" story that can be described as a royal roadmap, depicting the fresh romance between the red-haired protagonist, Shirayuki, a pharmacist, and Zen, the second prince of the Kingdom of Clarines. The fact that the series is currently airing may have a strong impact, but perhaps the fact that the entire work is not too muddled, with a refreshing breeze blowing through each episode, may be the reason for the favorable response.

The following No. 3 was also a "prince and princess" story, "Still the World is Beautiful" (original story by Shiiina Orange, Hana to Yume), which shares some worldview with No. 2 "Snow White with Red Hair," but this story is about the fourth daughter of the "Principality of Rain," Nique, who is married to the younger "Sun King," Livy. It is a refreshing love story in which Nique tries her best to protect the younger prince.

Also in sixth place was "Yona of the Dawn " (original story by Mizuho Kusanagi, Hana to Yume), another so-called "prince and princess" story, which, coincidentally, was the most popular story among the "prince and princess" series. Furthermore, all of these stories share the fact that they were originally serialized in Hakusensha's "Hana to Yume" and "LaLa," making this a "Hakusensha Festival" in its own right.

While these fantasy works were popular, the top-ranked adolescent school romantic comedies were " The Chairman is a Maid" (original story by Hiro Fujiwara, LaLa) at No. 4, "Ore Monogatari " (original story by Arco and Kawamura) at No. 5, and "The Tale of Me! (original story by Arco and Kazune Kawahara, Bessatsu Margaret). Both of these works have a strong comedic tone and are more funny than romantic, but they are popular among both men and women alike as works that can be viewed with peace of mind. In particular, the currently airing "Ore Monogatari! is an anime work in which the unique, nonmotivated protagonist Takeo Gouda plays a very active role, and its popularity seems to have increased considerably since it began airing. Incidentally, a live-action movie will be released in theaters in October.

The other top-ranked anime work was "Ao Haride" (original story by Io Sakisaka, Bessatsu Margaret), which came in at No. 7 in the "legitimate romance" category, and was largely outpaced by fantasy and comedy works.
