Elecom offers a mouse with an "Idling Stop" function that turns off the power when the hand is released!

Elecom has released the "M-WK01DB," a wireless mouse equipped with an "Idling Stop" function that turns the power on when the mouse is held and off when the hand is released.

The M-WK01DB is a wireless mouse equipped with an "Idling Stop" function, which was developed through industry-university cooperation between Ritsumeikan University and ELECOM.

Focusing on the characteristics of LEDs, which generate a small amount of electricity even under room light, an LED is placed on the surface of the mouse, and a "normally-off detection circuit" that detects the power generated by the LED is built into the inside of the mouse. The "Idling Stop" function turns the mouse power on by holding the mouse (blocking the light) and off by releasing the mouse (shining the light on it).

The mouse can be turned on and off simply by grasping and releasing the mouse, eliminating the need to operate the power switch, and the long battery life of approximately two years (using two AAA batteries). The "IdlingStop" function, which manages the power supply by detecting light in dark places, does not work properly.

The main specifications are as follows: the main unit measures 71.9 (W) x 108.4 (D) x 37.7 (H) mm and weighs approximately 66 g (not including batteries). The receiver measures 15 (W) x 17.6 (D) x 6 (H) mm and weighs approximately 2 g.
The power supply is two AAA batteries with a battery life of approximately two years (when the idle stop function is enabled). The number of buttons is 5 (including the wheel button). The sensor system is an optical sensor system with a resolution of 2,000 counts. The communication method isthe GFSK method, with a radio frequency of 2.4 GHz.Supported OS are Windows 8.1/RT 8.1/7/Vista and Mac OS X 10.10 or later. The main unit comes in three colors: black, red, and white.
