Autumn anime "Osomatsu-san" reveals Showa-esque event visuals! Kenichi Suzumura, who plays Iyami, becomes a radio personality!

Event visuals and radio information have been announced for the TV anime "Osomatsu-san," which will start in October.

Osomatsu-san" is an original anime produced to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the late Fujio Akatsuka's birth. It is based on "Osomatsu-kun," a gag manga published by Fujio Akatsuka in Weekly Shōnen Sunday in 1962, which became an explosive hit, and depicts a future where the six children have grown up. This is the first new "Osomatsu-kun" in 27 years, following the first "Osomatsu-kun" (monochrome anime) broadcast in 1966 and the second one in 1988. Directed by Yoichi Fujita of "Gintama" fame, character design by Naoyuki Asano, series composition by Shu Matsubara, and animation production by studio Piero.

The event visual and radio information have now been released. The event visual will be shown at the October 16 screening event "All Six! Totoko is there, too!" The visual shows the six children and Totoko, dressed in flashy suits with sequins, welcoming the audience. Tickets for the live viewing will go on sale to the general public on September 26.

The radio show will be broadcast on the web radio "Shay WAVE Osomatsu Station" (http://www.animate.tv/radio/osomatsusan), with the first episode starting at 6:00 p.m. on October 5. The radio personality is Kenichi Suzumura, who plays Iyami, and invites a voice actor as a guest each time.

Comment from Kenichi Suzumura (Iyami)
I never thought that the day would come when I would be asked to play the voice of Iyami! I feel pressure to play a great character, but I'm going to have fun anyway. I will make the best and most serious silliness with everyone! Please look forward to it!

Comment from Tateyuki Kunitachi (Chibita)
My name is Kunitate and I will be playing the role of Chibita. I loved "Osomatsu-kun". I even had a stuffed toy of Iyami. I am laughing so hard that I am crying on the set. The return of "Osomatsu-kun" is very painful! I am in love with it in many ways! The next 30 minutes will be here soon. Please don't miss it!

Yukari Hashimoto (music) comment
I was very surprised at first when I was given the idea that "Osomatsu-kun" would be adapted into an anime as "Osomatsu-san"! I was very surprised at first when I was told that "Osomatsu-kun" would be adapted into an anime as "Osomatsu-san" as an adult. I was even more surprised when I received the script and thought, "I'm going to go this far!" I thought it would be great if I could do something that would make people laugh from a musical standpoint while they laughed. We had detailed discussions and had a lot of fun, sometimes freely. I am sure it will be a very enjoyable work. Please enjoy "Osomatsu-san"!
