Sword Art Online" has announced the production of a movie version.
Based on a light novel by Reki Kawahara, "Sword Art Online" has had its first TV anime season starting in July 2012, a special episode on New Year's Eve 2013, and a second TV anime season starting in July 2014. The newly announced film version will be called "Sword Art Online the Movie" and will be based on a story written by Reki Kawahara.
Directed by Tomohiko Ito, character design by Shingo Adachi, and produced by A-1 Pictures.
