Phantom World" to be adapted into a TV anime in January 2016!　Produced by Tatsuya Ishihara and Kyoto Animation

The TV anime "The Phantom World of the Colorless Limit" will start airing in January 2016. The key visual and cast have also been announced.

The "Phantom World" is an anime work based on the light novel by Soichiro Hadano, published by Kyoto Animation's KAESUMA Bunko. It is a school fantasy set in the "Brain Function Error Countermeasure Room," which was set up to combat "phantoms" such as ghosts and UMAs.

The anime version was produced by Kyoto Animation. The director is Tatsuya Ishihara, the series composition is by Fumihiko Shimo, and the character design and chief animation director is Kazumi Ikeda. The cast includes Hiro Shimono as Haruhiko Ichijo, who fights phantoms by drawing, sealing, and summoning them; Sumire Uesaka as Mai Kawagami, who fights phantoms using all martial arts and special martial arts; Saori Hayami as Reina Izumi, a young lady from a good family who loves to eat and even sucks phantoms into her mouth. Reina Izumi is played by Saori Hayami; Koito Minase is played by Marei Uchida; Lulu Tadokoro is played by Azusa Tadokoro, a fairy phantom who is always with Haruhiko; Misaki Kuno is played by Kurumi Kumamakura, an elementary school student who fights by ordering her stuffed bear around; and Alice Himeno, a beautiful advisor with glasses who wears a white robe over a kimono, is played by Kikuko Inoue.

Broadcast will begin in January 2016 on ABC Asahi Broadcasting, TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, and BS11.

Phantoms" are ghosts, goblins, UMAs, and other beings that people have long believed to be "illusions. The "Brain Function Error Countermeasure Office" was set up at the school to counter the phantoms.
Haruhiko Ichijo, who belongs to this office, struggles daily to exterminate phantoms together with his senior, Mai Kawagami. Today, they receive another request.
