Digimon Adventure tri." is the latest in the Digimon series of anime films, a sequel to the original "Digimon Adventure. It is a new film depicting the growth of the "chosen children" (Taichi Yagami, Yamato Ishida, Sora Takenouchi, Mitsuro Izumi, Mimi Tachikawa, Takeshi Kido, Takeru Takaishi, and Hikari Yagami), including the main character Taichi Yagami, who is now a high school student, and will be released as a six-chapter film. The film is directed by Keitaro Motonaga, with series composition by Yuko Kakihara and character design by Atsuya Uki. The cast will be renewed as the children grow up, but the original cast of partner digimon will continue to be cast. The theme song will be a newly recorded version of an existing song.

The first chapter, "Reunion," will be released in 10 theaters nationwide on November 21, and additional cast members have been announced. Hiroaki Hirata, who has narrated previous works in the series and played Leomon and Yamato's father, will narrate the film, and freelance announcer Chiaki Matsuzawa will play the role of an announcer delivering news related to Digimon. Matsuzawa-san is known as a Digimon freak and is also the host of Digimon Fest 2015. Below are his comments.

The "Digimon" series was a lot of firsts for me. It was my first narration job, and it was also my first time to make a regular appearance in an anime series. It was also the first time for me to play a non-human character, and I got to play many different characters. Digimon" is an important work not only for me but for all voice actors, as it was created when all of the voice actors who are active today were young. The worldview of "Digimon Adventure tri." is a continuation of "Digimon Adventure," and both the children and the Digimon have evolved. I think it will be fun to watch it while looking back on how things were back then. The first chapter is just a narration at the beginning, so if you arrive even a little late at the start time, I will have already finished my part, so don't be late!

For me, Digimon Adventure has always been in my mind and in my heart, and it has always been an ongoing work, but I never thought that I would be able to meet it again like this after so many years have passed in reality.... I am afraid to say that I myself have participated in this world in a practical role, in the form of passing on information. With the feeling that something terrible is happening in this world. Thinking that my children are now old enough to take the news seriously...lol. The children who cried and screamed so easily back then have started to think about things and are slowly becoming adults.
