Resident Evil" to release a new full CG animation film worldwide in 2017! With new staff including Takashi Shimizu and Takanori Tsujimoto

A new full CG animated film of "Resident Evil" will be released worldwide in 2017.

This is a new feature film produced by "Marza Animation Planet," a CG animation studio of the Sega Sammy Group, whose full CG film version of "Captain Harlock" was a worldwide hit. Based on Capcom's popular survival horror action game "Resident Evil", which has sold more than 65 million copies in total, the film is produced by Takashi Shimizu, a master of horror films who produced the theatrical version of "Ju-On" series and became the first Japanese live-action film to achieve the number one box office success in the US with the US remake. Takashi Tsujimoto, who excelled in action films such as the live-action Patlabor and special effects drama "Ultraman X," will serve as executive producer and director. The script is by Makoto Fukami of "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass" and "Gakkou Gurashi" fame, and the music is by Kenji Kawai, who is also active in TV dramas and game music. The original story will be supervised by Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi.

The five live-action "Resident Evil" films starring Milla Jovovich have become popular worldwide, and the third animated series, "Resident Evil: Degeneration" (2008) and "Resident Evil: Damnation" (2012), was created by a completely new staff. The third installment features a completely new staff from the first two. The film depicts Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, who are making their first appearances in an animated series, and the well-known Leon S. Kennedy as they confront a new threat. The film is being produced as a theatrical production that will satisfy not only fans of old video games, but also fans of live-action films and animation.
