Banze Bridge and open deck also decorated! March Ecute Kanda-Mansebashi to turn on winter illumination from November 18, 2015

March Ecute Kanda-Mansebashi's winter-only illumination, however, will be held from November 18, 2015 to February 14, 2016.

This year's illumination, titled "Mori Illumination," is based on the images of a "Christmas Forest" (inside the building) and a "Pathway to the Forest" (outside). For the first time, the Banze Bridge over the Kanda River and the open deck along the river will also be decorated, creating a fantastic landscape of green and pink illumination along the waterfront. The number of illuminated bulbs is 7,700. The North Corridor will also be decorated by artists from "iichi," a marketplace for handmade goods. Workshops by professionals and limited edition Christmas products will also be available for purchase.

There will also be a "Welcome Owl" to greet visitors at the entrance, a "Yona Yona Owl" that appears at night, and two "Friendly Owls" that cuddle up together, making for a total of seven different owl species lurking in the area. Some of the owls are difficult to find, and it is said that it is not easy to find all of them. Incidentally, owls are known as lucky creatures because of the combination of the words "Shakarou" and "Fukuro," and the name of this year's event is "Shichifukuro" (seven lucky owls) in reference to the Seven Gods of Good Luck.

The lights will be turned on from 16:00 to 23:00 (21:00 on Sundays and holidays). Together with the Christmas illumination at Akihabara UDX, which has become an established winter tradition in Akihabara, this will be a popular spot for couples during the Christmas period.
