Hiroshi Nishikori presents his original underground idol anime "CHIKA☆CHIKA IDOL"! Produced by Symphonium, a new company he established

The original CG animation project "CHIKA☆CHIKA IDOL" was announced.

This is the first original CG animation work by Symphonium Corporation, a CG animation production company established in July 2015 by Takeshi Honjo, who has been involved in the production of a wide range of games, goods, and comics, from commercial media to doujinshi, and animation director Hiroshi Nishikori, known for "Azumanga Daioh" and "To Aru Majutsu no Index". The production cost is expected to be raised through crowdfunding in Japan and the U.S. in early 2016.

The content is a daily life story focusing on underground idols. Using cell-look 3DCG, it will be produced as an idol animation focusing on hot live performances. In addition, the theme of the project is "Walking together with fans" in conjunction with the crowdfunding management method. The staff consists of director Hiroshi Nishikori, producer/planner Yasutake Honjo, and character designer Mochiko Kagamino. The cast includes Marika Takano as Tenka Akasaki, Yuki Kuwahara as Sumi Yuki, Rika Tachibana as Abby Williams, Ayane Sakura as Hisame Nagasawa, and Yuri Yamaoka as Yataro (cat).

In preparation for the crowdfunding campaign, Hiroshi Nishikori will serialize the original four-frame manga and launch an English-language website, and a campaign is planned in which users can receive smartphone wallpaper by following and RTing the official Twitter account.
