Pandora in the Red Shell" to be adapted into a theater anime in December! SF action work by Shirow Masamune and Rikudou Shinji

It was announced that "Pandora in the Red Shell" will be adapted into a theater anime and will be released in theaters on December 5.




Pandora in the Red Shell" is a manga series by Shirow Masamune (original idea) and Rikudou Shinji (manga), serialized in Kadokawa Nico Nico Ace. It is a science fiction action story about a girl with a prosthetic body who comes to a man-made resort island, where she sees heavily armed terrorists and weapons of mass destruction roaming around, and confronts them with a buddy she meets there.

The animated version was produced by Studio Gogumi and AXsiZ as a 50-minute theatrical film. It is directed by Munenori Nawa of "Nogizaka Haruka's Secret" and "kiss×sis" fame, with a script by Tatsuya Takahashi, character design and chief animation director by Takuya Tani, and music by TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND. The cast includes Sanae Fukusanae as Nanaten Gospel, Aimi Numakura as Clarion, Atsuko Tanaka as Uzal Delilah, Junpei Morita as Buell, Sousui Matsuda as Bree-oo, and Rie Murakawa as Bunny.


Screenings will be held at Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku, Fushimi Millionza, and Umeda Burg 7 for two weeks only, from December 5 to 18. In addition to stage greetings at each screening theater, it has been decided to distribute "miniature reproductions of cards featuring illustrations by Shinji Rikudou" as a special gift to visitors in the first week of the film's release, and "miniature reproductions of cards featuring illustrations by Takuya Tani" in the second week.
