It has been announced that a wrapped car from the animated film "Initial D" will participate in the "TRD Rally Challenge Shinshiro.

Initial D" is an anime film based on the popular manga (author: Shuichi Shigeno), which was serialized in Weekly Young Magazine from 1995 to 2013 and has sold 48 million copies in 48 volumes. The main character, who has the mark of a "young leaf," drives his father's old Hachi Roku (AE86 Sprinter Treno), which is owned by his father who runs a tofu shop, and engages in heated public road battles with other drivers from all over the country with his amazing drift driving skills... The story is told in 4 TV series + 1 movie version + several OVAs from 1998 to 2012. The series was a huge hit, with four TV series, one film version, and several OVAs produced between 1998 and 2012. The new film version is produced by Sanzigen and Raidenfilm, which are known for their CG production techniques, and all the sounds of the cars in the film are reproduced by professional racing drivers. In addition, the cast has been completely renewed and the film depicts the battle between the "Rotary Takahashi Brothers" (older brother Ryosuke: FC3S RX-7, younger brother Keisuke: FD3S RX-7), who claim to be the fastest in the Gunma area, and the main character Takumi Fujiwara in a three-part series.

The team has decided to enter the rally in preparation for the release of the third and final chapter of the trilogy, "Initial D Legend 3: Yumegen," on February 6, 2016. Two cars, a black-and-white wrapped car "Initial D Fujiwara Tofu Store Cusco 86" based on the current Hachi Roku and a red-and-black wrapped car "Morpho Initial D Sammy K186" also based on the current Hachi Roku, will aim for the championship at the "TRD Rally Challenge Shinshiro" to be held on November 1 in Aichi Prefecture. Rallying is a motor sport in which contestants compete in terms of technique and speed on a variety of road surfaces, using public roads rather than circuits. Currently, "SS rally" is the most common form of rallying, in which cars compete in time attacks on predetermined sections of road one at a time, and their rankings are determined based on the total of the time attacks.

The driver of the black-and-white wrapped car, Shuhei Muta, is currently ranked high in points, and depending on the results of this rally, he may become the series champion. The co-driver of the black-and-white car is Hajime Hoshino, the driver of the red-and-black car is Butaro Kubo, and the co-driver of the red-and-black car is Junko Fukuda.
