Production continues on the noitaminA film "Slaughterhouse Organ" for completion by the end of 2016! Staff reunites at "Geno Studio" established by Koji Yamamoto

Noitamina's "Project Itoh," an animated feature film based on the novel by the late Keisuke Ito, has announced that it will continue production of "Slaughterhouse Organ," which had been suspended.

This project, the second noitamina movie following the blockbuster hit "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass the Movie," is based on the original full-length novels "Slaughter Organ" and "Harmony" by Keisuke Ito, who died prematurely in 2009 at the age of 34, and the 30-page preface left by his friend and well-known Akutagawa Prize-winning novelist, Akutagawa Shoichiro. The three novels, "Slaughterhouse", "Harmony", and "Empire of the Corpse", written by Akutagawa Prize-winning author Tou Enjou, who is known as his close friend, will be made into animation films in succession starting in October.

Production will now continue on "Slaughterhouse Organ," which had to be suspended and its release postponed due to the bankruptcy of Mangrove at the end of September 2015 (total debt: approximately 540 million yen). Chief producer Koji Yamamoto will establish a new studio, "Geno Studio" (named after the work's English title, "Genocidal Organ"), by the end of November, aiming to complete the project by the end of 2016. However, the release date is undecided at this time. The main staff, including director Shuko Murase, will continue to work on the film, but sold advance tickets will be refunded.

Geno Studio was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Twin Engine Corporation, of which Koji Yamamoto is the president, and plans to collaborate with E Joy Corporation (*) after "Slaughterhouse Organ" is completed.
*The company was established in Japan in October as a subsidiary of Shanghai E Joy Culture, which has GONZO founder Shoji Murahama as its executive director and operates the HAOLINERS animation brand in China. The company plans to produce animation works with an eye on the global market.

Comment by Shukong Murase
Although a situation that no one could have predicted has occurred, the fact that we have decided to continue production in this way can be considered as an opportunity given to us by Keisuke Ito. Chief Producer Yamamoto has established "Geno Studio," and the main staff has gathered again. The entire staff is committed to producing a good work that meets everyone's expectations.

Koji Yamamoto comment
The bankruptcy of Mangrove threatened to put the continuation of the production in jeopardy, but we have managed to resume production. The best thing is that we did not betray the expectations of our customers. I would like to thank Fuji Television Network and the other members of the production committee for their willingness to fulfill this responsibility. On the other hand, I feel that the mangrove issue is an industry-wide problem and not someone else's problem. I hope that the studio that emerged from "Slaughterhouse" will be at the forefront of changing the industry.
