A key visual from the TV anime "Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju," which will start in January 2016, has been released.

Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" is an anime work based on Haruko Unda's manga serialized in ITAN. The TV anime version shares the same staff: director Mamoru Hatakeyama, series composition by Jun Kumagai, character design by Mieko Hosoi, and rakugo supervision by Mieko Hayashi. The animation is produced by Studio Deen.

The key visual has been unveiled. The key visual depicts Yotaro (CV: Tomokazu Seki), the main character, Yakumo (CV: Akira Ishida), a great rakugo master, Yotaro's apprentice, Sukeroku (CV: Koichi Yamadera), a rakugo performer called a "rare genius," Konatsu (CV: Yu Kobayashi), Sukeroku's daughter, and Miyokichi (CV: Megumi Hayashibara), a mysterious former geisha. Incidentally, the coupling song "Ware ha Gardenia" was also written, composed, and produced by Ringo Shiina, who also participated in the CD artwork.
