But in the midst of that darkness, I felt as if there was a gentle light with a nostalgic warmth twinkling desperately. Many things depicted in this story are cruel, sad, and unforgivable. That is why I want to face it with sincerity and play the role with sincerity.
I think it is a very serious thing to be the voice of an animated film. I am happy and at the same time very nervous. Right now I am struggling to catch up with Satoru, who lives in a two-dimensional world, but his back is so far away that I am getting impatient. However, I will do my best like Satoru and never give up, while learning the necessary techniques from him.

When I read the original story, I was amazed by Mr. Sanbe's ability to create such a delicate and loving suspense film with an ordinary young man as the main character. The story is about a young man who is moved by a feeling that everyone has felt before: "If I had made a different choice at that time, what would have happened to my life? This work is like a new spinning of the threads of memory that suddenly dance down in our daily lives, and which we are now able to weave together anew.
Together with the wonderful staff and co-stars, I would like to deliver a work that will touch your hearts and minds.

The role of Satoru Fujinuma is not a heroic role, but a role with an out-of-the-ordinary quality. I was looking for someone who could give that kind of performance and came up with the names of both of you.
Tsuchiya-san's voice is so like Satoru's that even when he raises his voice, he doesn't seem to be angry. I could get the feeling that he was the one who would never be the best in the group. I think it was a good balance with the other children. In addition to the wide range of talent Mitsushima-san has shown in live-action films and other productions, it was also significant that he narrates commercials. Satoru is a character with a lot of monologue anyway.
I think it would be a great success if what the two of you get from the dubbing will be combined with Satoru's sense of growth.
