The NVMe SSD "SSD 950 PRO" with over 2GB/sec read is now available in a 512GB model!

SAMSUNG has released the MZ-V5P512B/IT, anNVMe-compatible M.2 SSDwith 2.5GB/seclead time.

The MZ-V5P512B/IT is a 512GB NVMe-compatible M.2 SSD in thecompany'sconsumer-oriented NVMe SSD "SSD 950 PRO" series, featuring the aforementioned high-speed2.5GB/sec read transfer rate. The 256GB "MZ-V5P256B/IT" model with a read speed of 2.2GB/sec was released at the end of last month.

The NAND flash is "V-NAND" with 32 stacked 256Gbit chips. The controller is the newly developed " UBX " and the cache memory is power-saving LPDDR3 memory (512MB). In addition, the "Dynamic Thermal Slotting Protection" function suppresses the transfer rate when the internal temperature exceeds 70°C to prevent heat-related problems.

Main specifications are:read: 2.5 GB/sec, write: 1.5 GB/sec, random read: 300,000 IOPS, random write: 110,000 IOPS; connection interface is PCI Express 3.0 x4; board size is Type 2280; MTBF: 1.5 million hours.
