U.S. hamburger chain Carl's Jr. opens its Akihabara Chuo-dori branch on March 4, 2016!　The first store to re-launch in Japan

The first Carl's Jr. restaurant in Japan will open in Akihabara in March 2016.

Founded in 1941 in Anaheim, California, Carl's Jr. is a hamburger chain that currently operates more than 3,600 stores in 37 countries around the world. The company's signature items include "Thickburgers," burgers made with 100% Angus beef patties, "Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders," chicken tenders made entirely in the restaurant, and "Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes The company boasts the second largest market share in the U.S. after Subway, McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's.

The first re-launch in Japan was opened in Akihabara in March 2016 as a franchise store by Carls Junior Japan (a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsuuroko Group Holdings, Inc. Thereafter, the company plans to open 150 stores by 2025.

The location of the first re-launch in Japan has not yet been announced, but it is likely to be around the newly constructed building on the former site of Karasawa Shoten on Chuo-dori, since it is "a 2-minute walk from Suehirocho Station and a 4-minute walk from Akihabara Station.

On February 15, 2016, details were announced. It will open on March 4 as "Akihabara Chuo-dori Store. As predicted above, it will be located on the first floor of the Akihabara SIL Building, a newly constructed building on the former site of Karasawa Shoten (4-4-3 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) along Chuo-dori. Hours of operation are from 8:00 to 21:00 (morning until 10:30), opening at 11:00 on March 4 only.
