New models of Google's small streaming device, Chromecast, are now on sale.

The second-generation model of Chromecast, Google's media streaming device that allows users to enjoy videos, music, and photos from their PCs, smartphones, and tablets on their TVs, is now on sale at the Jan-gle Akihabara flagship store.




Chromecast is a media streaming device that allows users to output content from smartphones, tablets, and PCs to the TV screen by connecting it to the HDMI port on the TV.

The second-generation Chromecast is now available in three colors (black, yellow, and red), as well as in a new disc shape instead of a stick shape. In terms of specifications, the new model features enhanced wireless LAN functions (IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ac compatible) and a " Fast Play " function that loads content that is likely to be played in advance.


The main specifications are as follows: the
main unit measures 51.9 x 51.9 x 13.49 mm, weighs 39.1 g, and is powered by the included USB cable. Compatible OS are Android 4.1 or later, iOS 7.0 or later, Windows 7 or later, Mac OS X 10.7 or later, and Chrome OS.
