From the TV anime "Detective Conan," the story and scene photos of the special program "Conan and Ebizo: Kabuki Eighteen Mysteries" to be broadcast on January 9/16 have been released.

This special program is produced to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the "Detective Conan" TV series. It will be the series' first two-week original one-hour special, with the first part airing on January 9, 2016 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and the second part on January 16, 2016 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. This time, Ebizo Ichikawa will take on the role of himself for the first time as an anime voice actor. The script was written by Hiroshi Kashiwabara, who has been involved in the TV series since its first episode and also wrote the scripts for the 10th and 11th feature film versions.

The story and scene photos have now been released. Set in the glamorous world of Kabuki, a case occurs in which two masks of cultural property class used on stage by a Kabuki actor Ichikawa Ebizo, who loves mysteries, are stolen. At the same time, the bodies of those involved are discovered, and Conan and Ebizo work together to find the culprit.

<Part 1 Story
Conan prevents an accident involving a car that has gone out of control due to brake failure. Someone has cut a hole in the brake hose, and the police proceed to investigate as a case of attempted murder. The driver, Hosoo, was on his way to hand over a cultural property-grade Nimote mask he owned to Ichikawa Ebizo, who was rehearsing at the Kabuki-za Theater. Ebizo will use these masks in "Shichitsumen" to be performed next month. Matsubara, the head of the company, keeps the masks in a locker at the rehearsal hall. The next morning, the masks are stolen. Takahashi, Hosoo's secretary, is found dead in his car. On the passenger seat was an empty geraldine case containing the masks. Conan examines the practice hall and deduces that the murderer is most likely a related party, and Ebizo is impressed by Conan's sharp deduction. Conan then joins Ebizo in the search for the culprit...

<Part 2 Story
Conan is abducted on his way to see Kaneko and wakes up in a building in the middle of demolition work. Conan realizes that his cell phone is missing and turns on his DB badge, but there is no response. Conan tries to escape on his own. Ran, Ai, and the others are unable to contact Conan, so they use the GPS function to locate his cell phone. Ran and the others then find Conan's cell phone, which has fallen into a narrow alley in Ginza. At the rehearsal hall, Kogoro develops some theories about the Takahashi case. However, Ichikawa Ebizo points out the errors in his deductions at every turn, and Kogoro suspects Ebizo, who denies his deductions, to be suspicious. After this, Ebizo learns that Conan is missing and goes with Ran and the others to look for him... The basement of the building in which Conan is located is in danger of collapsing at any moment....
