Sushi Police Anime "SUSHI POLICE" (SUSHI POLICE) Launches Wasabi Soy Sauce Flavored Popcorn! Sushi Police Kneeling Sticker Included!

The TV anime "SUSHI POLICE" will start in January 2016, and 109 Cinemas nationwide, which will screen the extra episode, have begun selling Wasabi soy sauce flavored popcorn.

SUSHI POLICE" was the winner of The Hollywood Reporter's 2015 Cannes Poster Awards at the 2015 Cannes International Film Festival's Film Market. The anime will be broadcast from January 6, 2016 as a commemorative anime. The story follows Honda (CV: Akira Yamashita), Suzuki (CV: Masaka Ifumasa), and Kawasaki (CV: Hiromitsu Okamoto) as they fight to protect "proper food culture" and is based on the actual Sushipolis riots* that took place in 2006.
In 2006, the Japanese government, concerned about the spread of incorrect Japanese food overseas, announced the establishment of the "Overseas Japanese Restaurant Certification System," a system for certifying correct Japanese restaurants, which was ridiculed as "Sushipolis is coming! The Japanese government decided not to implement the system after the Washington Post and other foreign media outlets simultaneously bashed the system, ridiculing it as "Sushipolis coming!

This time, the extra film was screened as an intermission film at 109 Cinemas nationwide from December 1, and "Wasabi soy sauce flavored popcorn" was launched on December 11. The popcorn is flavored with wasabi and soy sauce in reference to sushi. In addition, "Sushi Police Kneeling Stickers" will be distributed to those who purchase the popcorn on a first-come, first-served basis. The sticker features an illustration of the Sushipolis on their knees, with an apology and an illustration of the Sushipolis on their knees apologizing for saying, "It might taste good if you pour it on sushi," which contradicts their position as sushi culture protectors.
