Fall Anime "Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Fantasy" to Broadcast Second Season in April 2016! Gen Urobuchi, Masaki Tsuji, and Kazuki Nakajima to participate in the script.

At an event for the TV anime "Concrete Revoltion: Choujin Fantasy," it was announced that the second season will begin in April 2016.



Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Fantasy" is an original anime produced by BONES. Directed by Seiji Mizushima and written by Noboru Aikawa, it is set in Japan in the 20-odd years after World War II when the country was developing through rapid economic growth (but in a fictional age called "Shenka"), and tells the story of numerous superhumans and the "Excess Population Deliberation Institute," an affiliate of the Ministry of Health and Welfare that discovers, secures, protects and safely controls superhumans.


The production of the second season has now been decided. Gen Urobuchi, Masaki Tsuji, and Kazuki Nakajima will write the script, which will be broadcast from April 2016. Below is the event report.


On December 11 (Fri.) at TOHO CINEMAS SHINJUKU, "Concrete Revolutio - Choujin Fantasy - Just Before the Final Episode! The event included an advance screening of episode 11 "Justice/Freedom/Peace," which will air on December 13, a live audio commentary of episode 1 "The Witch of Tokyo," a public recording of the web radio program "Concrete Revolutio," and many more.

After an advance screening of the 11th episode "Justice/Freedom/Peace," a live audio commentary of the first episode was given by Uesaka Sumire (playing Teruko), Nakamura Eriko (playing Furota), and director Mizushima Seiji. They talked about the behind-the-scenes production and the cast's feelings during the recording. "The hairstyle of Teruko, who works part-time at the cafe, was designed by Ito Noji, the character designer, and is different from Teruko's usual hairstyle" (Mizushima), "I played Kazarota as if he fell in love with Teruko at first sight" (Nakamura), and "The hair of Teruko, who works part-time at the cafe, was designed by Ito Noji. The parts extending from Grosse Augen's body look like red pickled ginger (laughs)" (Uesaka), and expressed their thoughts in their own way.

After the commentary, Kaito Ishikawa, who plays Jiro Hitoyoshi, took the stage with a bouquet of flowers. He also presented a bouquet to Director Mizushima, who received an individual award at the 20th Animation Kobe.
After the cast members had all appeared on the stage, Director Mizushima announced that the second season would begin airing on TV in April 2016, and that Gen Urobuchi, Masaki Tsuji, and Kazuki Nakajima would be participating in writing the screenplay. The staff and cast are working very hard to bring the film to life. I hope you enjoy the broadcast by the end of the year and eagerly await to see what the second season will be like."

Furthermore, the manager and staff of the curry store "Akihabara Caligari," which unofficially prepared the Conlevo Curry due to its friendship with Director Mizushima, appeared on stage and endorsed it as the official curry. This surprised the audience.

The event concluded with a public recording of the web radio program "Concrete RevoRadio," in which Uesaka and Nakamura serve as personalities! Director Mizushima and Ishikawa were invited as guests to talk about "Please Meteor Tail! and "Amazing Superheroes Around Me," as well as talks about their favorite characters. Uesaka, who celebrates his birthday on December 19, received a surprise gift of doteras and kompeito (kompeito sugar) as a present. The program will be available on December 16 (Wed.) from 6:00 p.m. on Onsen.
