Broadcasting of the TV anime "Kumamiko" is set to begin in April 2016. A key visual and additional cast members have also been announced.



Kumamiko" is an anime work based on a manga serialized in Monthly Comic Flapper by Masume Yoshimoto. Set in a village deep in the mountains of the Tohoku region, it depicts the daily life of a junior high school student, Ameshuku Machi (CV: Natsumi Hioka), who serves as a shrine maiden at a shrine dedicated to bears, and her guardian, a brown bear named Natsu (CV: Hiroki Yasumoto), who lives a rural life. Directed by Kiyoshi Matsuda, script by Pierre Sugiura and Masao Iketani, character design and chief animation director by Hiroyuki Saita, and produced by Kinema Citrus and EMT Squared.

The broadcast start date has now been set for April 2016. A key visual and additional cast members have also been released. The key visual depicts Machi and Natsu standing under the eaves of a shrine, creating a relaxed atmosphere and fresh air deep in the mountains. Additional cast members include Kazuyuki Okitsu as Yoshio Ameshuku, Machi's cousin who works at the Kumade village office, and Eri Kitamura as Hibiki Sakata, Yoshio's childhood friend and a Yankee.
