Galpan the Movie grosses over 800 million yen in 47 days since its release! Screening of the film began at 32 new theaters on January 9.

From the anime film "Girls und Panzer the Movie," it was announced that the box-office revenue exceeded 800 million yen.

The original anime "Girls und Panzer," directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, depicts a heartwarming story with the theme of beautiful girls and tanks. The realistic depiction of tanks and numerous beautiful girl characters have been highly acclaimed, especially by anime and military fans. In July 2014, the OVA "Girls und Panzer: This is the real battle of Anzio! was screened in theaters in July 2014, and the first theater version of the anime film "Girls und Panzer: The Movie" was released in November.

The film opened in 77 theaters on November 21, and became a blockbuster hit, with box-office revenue surpassing 500 million yen on December 12, 22 days after its release. As of January 6, 2012, the total number of visitors was 548,583 and the total box-office revenue was 804,356, 024 yen.

In addition, perhaps due to the fact that the OVA version and the first part of the movie version were broadcast on terrestrial TV for the first time as a special program during the year-end and New Year holidays, the number of visitors from January 2 to January 3 was 31,451 (compared to the previous week's Saturday and Sunday: 192%) and the box-office revenue was an astounding 47,671,400 yen (compared to the previous week's Saturday and Sunday: 191%). The film will be released at the following 32 new theaters starting this weekend, so further growth can be expected. Incidentally, the special gift for the 8th week (from January 9) will be two types of postcards newly illustrated by Isao Sugimoto, character designer and chief animation director.
