The story and BD/DVD information of the TV special "Lupin III: The Italian Game" from the TV anime "Lupin the Third" on air has been announced.

This is the first time in 30 years since "Lupin III Part III" in 1985 that a pure TV series that is not an offshoot or spin-off has been produced. The series is set in Italy and the Republic of San Marino, and will begin airing on Italian RTI stations in May 2015, and in Japan in October on NTV and other stations. The series is directed by Yuichiro Yano, directed by Yuya Takahashi, who directed "LUPIN THE IIIRD: The Tombstone of Daisuke Tsugimoto", with music by Yuji Ohno, who created the famous "Lupin III Theme", and animation production by Telefonaktie. In this episode, the Lupin gang and their mysterious enemy, the Masked Count (CV: Kenjiro Tsuda), battle over the legacy of Count Cagliostro, a "genius swindler" who swept Europe in the 18th century. The highlight of the film is the "car vs. train" chase scene in which Lupin and Zenigata team up to challenge each other, and other flashy action scenes.

The BD/DVD will be released on March 23 for 4,800 yen plus tax (3,800 yen plus tax for the DVD), with DVD rentals starting the same day.

Rebecca Rossellini was kidnapped by someone. She was born into a prominent family in the Republic of San Marino, and is the young president of the Rossellini conglomerate, which runs the largest hotel chain in Italy.
