A stage report from "COUNTDOWN JAPAN 15/16" held at the end of the year has arrived from the TV anime "Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro," which will start in April.

Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro" is an anime work based on a manga (original idea: Yipiao / manga: Yujiro Koyama) serialized in "Shonen Jump +". It comedically depicts Katsumata Agetaro, the third generation owner of a tonkatsu restaurant in Shibuya, who finds commonalities between tonkatsu and club DJing, and his struggle to become a full-fledged professional in both fields. The director has also directed "Sexy Commando-Gaiden: Amazing! Masaru-san" and "Gag Manga Days," while Daisuke Fujiwara of the DJ/producer unit MU-STARS handles the music. Animation production is by Studio Deen.

As previously reported, the film appeared at the New Year's Eve festival "COUNTDOWN JAPAN 15/16" held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from December 28 to 31, 2012. The main character, Jyotaro Katsumata, teamed up with Daisuke Fujiwara to perform as "Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro and Daisuke Fujiwara (MU-STARS)". Report below.

COUNTDOWN JAPAN 15/16 was held at Makuhari Messe at the end of the year (December 28 - 31, 2015. (hereinafter CDJ).
On the second day, Tuesday, December 29, the "ASTRO ARENA" was filled with the sound of oil splitting. The sound of oil splitting triggered the baton change from the previous act, Yatsuichirou. Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro and Daisuke Fujiwara (MU-STARS) started the stage.

Backed by VJ footage using frames from the original comic and extra stories serialized in "MEN'S NON-NO," they warmed up the floor with "Get Up And Dance" (FREEDOM) and other giddy numbers, The DJ played mainly Western music such as Beastie Boys, Specials, Pogues, Jackson 5, James Brown, etc., which is rare for CDJ. Daisuke Fujiwara's stoic spinning of the board, interspersed with Japanese music such as Gen Hoshino's "Cherry Blossom Forest," was like a craftsman sincerely frying tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlets).

Agetaro, on the other hand, supported Fujiwara's DJ play by moving around the stage in every direction and encouraging the floor. When Michael Jackson played, he performed a moonwalk! He also showed a more amicable side by wiping the sweat off Fujiwara's face as he concentrated on his DJ performance.

Fujiwara's stoic DJ, Agetaro's comical performance, and the VJ who made full use of tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlets) and comic images, all came together to bring the meat day (29th) to a successful conclusion.
