Episode 1 Synopsis
There's nothing, so I'm going to Asuko. Yotaro, a former hoodlum, could not forget the rakugo story "Shinigami" by Yurakutei Yakumo VIII, which he heard at a prison visit. After his release from prison, the first thing he did was to go to Yakumo's theater. He begged Yakumo to take him on as an apprentice and somehow became an uchideshi. ...... Yakumo, on the other hand, has a deep connection with a woman named Konatsu who lives there, and his own inescapable past.
Episode 2 Synopsis
Yakumo tells a "promised story" to Sukeroku. The young Yakumo, Kikuhiko, met the boy who would later become Sukeroku on the day he became apprenticed to Yakumo VII. He is an eccentric character who asked Yakumo with the sole intention of succeeding to the name, but he wins both Kikuhiko and his master over with his own unique storytelling. His character is unconventional and his stories are rough, but he loves rakugo above all else. However, he loves rakugo more than anything else. He is the complete opposite of Kikuhiko, who reluctantly becomes an uchideshi, but their days of training together begin.
