Animated film "Bakemono no Kodomo" reveals title and cover of newly written spin-off short story! Mamoru Hosoda's "Bakemono no Supper"

The title and cover of the newly written short story that will be a BD bonus from the animated film "Bakemono no ko" have been revealed.

Bakemono no ko" is the first new work in three years by Mamoru Hosoda, creator of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," "Summer Wars," and "Wolf Children: Rain and Snow," and was released in theaters on July 11. This is another original work (director, screenplay, and original story by Mamoru Hosoda), produced by Studio Chizu. Centered on the strange master-disciple relationship between a monster and a boy, this adventure action film depicts training and adventure in a different world inhabited by monsters, epic action set in real Shibuya, parent-child bonds, and a faint romance with the heroine. It was the top hit Japanese film among the fiercely competitive 2015 summer vacation movies.

The title and cover of the newly written short story, which will be a bonus in the BD/DVD limited edition to be released on February 24, have been unveiled. The newly written short story is a spin-off work by Mr. Hosoda himself, which tells a story that was not told in the main story. The cover and illustrations are newly drawn by Takaaki Yamashita, the animation director, and an audio commentary supplementary reading, "'Bakemono no ko' text commentary [Interview & Artwork]," which includes a freshly filmed interview with Mr. Hosoda, is also included.

Incidentally, common extras with the standard edition include various promotional videos and two audio commentaries (Mamoru Hosoda, Aoi Miyazaki, Shota Sometani, Suzu Hirose, Kou Furukawa and Mamoru Hosoda, Takaaki Yamashita, Tatsuzo Nishida, Ryusuke Hikawa).
