Mitsuhisa Ishikawa (President, Production I.G) comments
We are very pleased that "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex," for which we produced the animation, has been selected as the character for the Cyber Security Human Resource Development Awareness Campaign. Cyber crimes in the future society depicted in "Ghost in the Shell" are now becoming a reality. It is necessary for each and every one of us to face the rapidly advancing Internet society with a high level of awareness and correct knowledge. In light of this situation, we felt that the campaign to promote and educate people to develop and secure cyber security personnel is a very meaningful measure. We also gathered our best staff to create illustrations for the tie-up posters. We hope that this illustration will attract as many people as possible to this campaign.
In "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex," there is a very memorable line from the character Aramaki, who says, "Teamwork comes from stand-up. I feel that the current environment surrounding Internet security has become an era in which this line can be applied exactly. The rapid spread of the Internet and the rapid spread of smartphones over the past few years have brought about an era that demands a high level of awareness and correct knowledge in dealing with the Internet from each and every one of us. By each one of us having the correct knowledge and facing the Internet ("stand-up"), we can build a safe Internet society as a whole ("teamwork as a result"). This is the reason why we are so proud of this project. We hope that this tie-up illustration will encourage as many people as possible to take an interest in cyber security.
