Tokyo Metro introduces a train departure melody at Akihabara Station (Hibiya Line)! The music is AKB48's "Koisuru Fortune Cookie

Tokyo Metro has announced the introduction of a train departure melody for Akihabara Station on the Hibiya Line. The music is "Koisuru Fortune Cookie" by AKB48.

The decision was based on the departure melody requests made on the company's website between June and September 2015, and the final survey was conducted among user monitors at the stations with the most requests (1,200 songs in total) out of more than 10,000 requests. The stations and songs were selected from over 1,200 requests (total of 1,200 songs).

The stations and songs are: "Koisuru Fortune Cookie" by AKB48 at Akihabara Station on the Hibiya Line, "Ginza no Koi no Monogatari" by Yujiro Ishihara/Junko Makimura at Ginza Station on the Hibiya Line, and "Kimi no na wa Kibo" by Nogizaka46 at Nogizaka Station on the Chiyoda Line. The song "Kimi no na wa Kibo" was the most requested at the Nogizaka station, receiving approximately 6,400 requests. As a token of appreciation to the fans, the phrase recorded by Erika Ikuta, a member of Nogizaka46, on the piano will be played as the departure melody.

The melodies are scheduled to be introduced at all three stations this spring.
