Ukiyoe" featuring "Lupin the Third" is now available! Pre-sales also started at Isetan event!

The first "Ukiyoe" in the "Lupin III" series will be sold in advance at the special "LUPINISSIMO IN ISETAN 2016" event to be held at Isetan Shinjuku from February 3 (Wed.) to 8 (Mon.), 2016 (* Limited quantities available for order).

The ukiyoe are produced by Takezasa-do, a Kyoto-based company that has inherited traditional woodblock printing techniques. The names of the characters accompanying the illustrations are calligraphy by Tansetsu Ogino, who has written the titles of famous whiskey and historical dramas. The Japanese paper is Echizen washi made by Ichibei Iwano IX, a living national treasure. The entire process of making this product is done by the hands of skilled craftsmen, making it an exquisite piece.

There are three types of Ukiyo-e to be sold this time: a large-size print depicting each character, a set of five large-size prints side by side, and a special-size print. In the large format, Lupin and Dimeji, who are usually dressed in Western-style clothing, show off their "Japanese" attire, which is appropriate for Ukiyo-e. The special format is a set of five large format prints. The special edition depicts Lupin and his friends escaping from the water city of Venice with a boatload of treasure, and Zenigata chasing after them, creating a fusion of the world of Lupin and Japanese culture. The set of five large-size prints, which includes Lupin, Dimeji, Gemon, Fujiko, and Zenigata, will be personally signed by Monkey Punch, the author of the original novel.

Outline of LUPINISSIMO IN ISETAN 2016
Isetan, celebrating its 130th anniversary, is collaborating with "Lupin III" as a special project. In the area based on the concept of the closet of Lupin's gang, the styling of Lupin, Dougo, and Zenigata by a leading Japanese tailor and the Lupin jacket by the Italian fashion brand "Tagliatore" made especially for this project will be exhibited.
Also on display will be kimono styles inspired by Gomon and other characters by "Kisaburo," which proposes new kimono styles, and styles inspired by Rebecca, a new character in the anime, in collaboration with "Mademoiselle Tara," which is a brand that has never been seen before in the fashion industry. The fashion industry proposes an unprecedented "Lupin World".
In addition, there will be a talk show by Kazuhide Tomonaga, general director of the TV series, and Yu Jozono, producer, as well as sales of original goods limited to this Lupin project, such as wine with a limited label for Isetan, and at the famous Italian restaurant "AGIO", a spaghetti platter based on the spaghetti that Lupin and Dimenton fought over in the movie "Lupin III: Cagliostro's Castle" will be served.
