TV anime "Osomatsu-san" special screening event report for episode 3.5! The short video bonus of BD/DVD Volume 2 was also screened!

Here is a report from the special screening event of episode 3.5 of the TV anime "Osomatsu-san," which is currently airing.

Osomatsu-san" is an original anime created to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the late Fujio Akatsuka's birth. Based on "Osomatsu-kun," a gag comic published by Fujio Akatsuka in Weekly Shōnen Sunday in 1962 that became an explosive hit, "Osomatsu-san" depicts a future where the six children have grown up. With its aggressive gags and parodies, the portrayal of the six children's diverse personalities, and the use of popular male voice actors, it has become a popular title, and is currently in its second season starting in January.

To commemorate the release of the first BD/DVD volume on January 29, a special screening event of episode 3.5 was held at movie theaters nationwide on the same day. In addition to the 9 episodes "Chibita and Oden" and "Koisuru Jyushimatsu" (which were the top voted episodes by fans in advance) and the 5 episodes "Karamatsu Incident" and "Esper Nyanko," the first episode "Shiritori" from the first volume, the second short "OSOMATSU BLASTER" from the second volume, and the completely new 3.5 episodes "Shiritori" from the first volume were shown at the event. The event was a great hit with fans. Here is the report.

The BD/DVD volume 1 will also include a screening event held on October 16, "All Six Children, All Together! TOTOKO is here!" held on October 16, as well as a priority sales application ticket for the daytime event on May 8, 2016.

The TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku, one of the venues for the event, was packed to capacity when the screening began. As soon as the screen went dark, there was a subdued buzz in the air! I could sense the high level of anticipation for the episodes to be seen in the future. Incidentally, some of the audience members were wearing Matsu hoodies under their coats. The audience was decorated with clothes that showed off which pine tree they were wearing. The event attracted a great deal of attention, with applications for the event, which were ten times as many as initially expected, due in part to the opportunity to "see the courage of the six children on the big screen.
The top two episodes selected by fan votes ("Chibita and Oden" and "Koisuru Jyushimatsu" in episode 9 and "Karamatsu Incident" and "Esper Nyanko" in episode 5), the short film series #01 "Shiritori (from the first pine)" and #02 "OSOMATSU BLASTER (from the second pine)", and a completely new 3.5 minute short film included in the first pine, "OSOMATSU BLASTER". The 3.5 completely new episodes "Matsushiru" and "Virgin Hero" are also included in the first Matsu. The results of the two fan-voted episodes were not revealed until the screening, so as soon as the titles were shown on the screen, there were gasps and groans of "So this is it after all! was the first reaction from the audience as soon as the titles were shown.
The short film series was a bit more relaxed with "Shiritori," but then came "OSOMATSU BLASTER," which was shown for the first time in Japan. The two short films, which took completely different directions, left the audience in a state of great bewilderment. OSOMATSU BLASTER" will be a treat until the release of the second pine tree. If you are wondering "What is this? If you are curious about it, please check it out!
The most exciting episode of the show was episode 3.5, "Pine Soup," in which F6 made an appearance, and the unexpected punchline caused a stir! The audience laughed out loud at the novel topic-rich development of "The Virgin Hero! Perhaps it was because many of the audience had not seen the show before, but it seemed to be particularly shocking. The audience was blown away by the film's zero-scheduled development, which is one of the best parts of the film.
The one-hour and 15-minute screening event came to an end, and the audience, immersed in the lives of the six children, were heard discussing the scenes that made the biggest impression on them. Don't miss it!
