TV anime "Macross Delta" will start in April on TOKYO MX and BS11! Manga version will be serialized in a total of 4 magazines.

Broadcasting of the TV anime "Macross Delta" is scheduled to begin in April. The third key visual and new information were also announced.


Macross Delta" is a new anime work of the popular "Macross" series, which is based on transformable robots, songs, and love triangles. Set eight years after the previous work "Macross F" on a planet in a remote part of the universe, it depicts a joint operation and love story between the five aerial knights of the "Kingdom of Wind" and the five divas of the tactical music unit "Valkyrie". General director is Shoji Kawamori, director is Kenji Yasuda, series composition and script are by Toshizo Nemoto, character design is by Chisato Jitsuda (CAPCOM), character design is by Majiro and Yu Shindo, and animation production is by Satellite. Before the official announcement, an audition was held to select a voice actress and singer for the heroine, and approximately 8,000 applications were received, with Minori Suzuki (age 18) winning the grand prize.

The "first episode advance edition," which was broadcast as an advance special at the end of last year and then distributed, has become popular with more than 500,000 views in one week, and the broadcast will begin in April on TOKYO MX, BS11, and other channels. The third key visual has also been unveiled. The illustration was drawn by Chisato Saneda (CAPCOM) and depicts the main character Hayate Immelmann, the heroine Freya Vion, and Mirage Farina Genus in the center, suggesting a love triangle relationship.


In addition, the manga version* will be serialized in four other magazines: Magazine Special, Monthly Shonen Sirius, Monthly Comic REX, and Monthly Comic Zerotham. The manga will include the main story, a prequel side story, a viewpoint from the camp of the tactical music unit "Valkyrie," and a viewpoint from the camp of the Kingdom of the Wind "Knights in the Air," making the main story of the anime even more enjoyable. In addition, the series will take the stage at AnimeJapan 2016 to be held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 26-27; Shoji Kawamori and other cast members from the first, 7, F, and Δ will come together for a talk show on the RED Stage on March 26 at 1:35 p.m.
