Logitech has released the LDR-PS8WU2V, a wireless DVD drive that enables DVD viewing and CD ripping with iOS/Android devices.

The LDR-PS8WU2V is a wireless DVD drive that enables DVD playback and CD recording/playback through a Wi-Fi connection with iOS/Android devices.

The LDR-PS8WU2V is equipped with a double Wi-Fi antenna for stable wireless communication. In addition to being powered by the included AC adapter, the drive can also run on a mobile battery (sold separately), allowing users to enjoy watching DVDs on the go.

DVD playback and CD recording/playback are performed using the dedicated DVD playback application "Logitec Wireless DVD Player" and the CD importing (ripping)/CD-R writing (writing) application "Logitec CD Ripper. In addition, the music playback application "ELECOM Hi-Res Music Player" is available for iOS devices.

CD ripping can be selected from five levels of sound quality (FLAC Levl5) to capacity (AAC+96kbps), as well as an "automatic CD jacket and music acquisition function" and a "music CD creation function" that enables CD creation without a PC.

The main specifications are as follows: the main unit measures 136 (W) x 153 (D) x 25 (H) mm, weighs 310 g, and uses a tray loading system. Supported OS are iOS 8.0 or later and Android 4.2.2 or later. The main unit comes in two colors: black and white.
