The cast of the TV anime "Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro", which will start in April, has been announced.
Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro" is an anime work based on a manga (original idea: Yipiao / manga: Yujiro Koyama) serialized in "Shonen Jump +". It comedically depicts Katsumata Agetaro, the third generation owner of a tonkatsu restaurant in Shibuya, who finds commonalities between tonkatsu and club DJing, and his struggle to become a full-fledged professional in both fields. The director has also directed "Sexy Commando-Gaiden: Amazing! Masaru-san" and "Gag Manga Days," while Daisuke Fujiwara of the DJ/producer unit MU-STARS handles the music. Animation production is by Studio Deen.
The cast has now been unveiled. The third generation of "Shibukatsu," a tonkatsu restaurant in Shibuya, is played by Daiki Yamashita as Jyotaro Katsumata, who grows up to be a "tonkatsu DJ" after meeting a club owner; his father, Yasutsugu Ishii, is the second generation of "Shibukatsu" and strictly teaches Jyotaro how to make tonkatsu; and his wife, Shinobu, is a hand towel vendor who frequents "Shibukatsu" and is a clubber. Kenjiro Tsuda plays Shugo Oshibori, who enjoys going to clubs and picking up girls; Keiji Fujiwara plays DJ Oily, who mainly works at clubs in Shibuya; M.A.O. plays Enko Hattori, an apprentice stylist; and Takashi Matsuyama plays Goro Mizoguro, the owner of "Digger's," a record store in Shibuya, DJ Big Master Fly, a legendary American DJ and nicknamed "Daimajin of Manhattan," is played by Chafu Hayashi.
