orange" to be adapted into a TV anime in the summer of 2016! Hirotsugu Hamasaki of "Steins;Gate" depicts a science fiction love story that intersects time axes.

The TV anime adaptation of "orange" will begin airing in the summer of 2016.




orange" is a manga work serialized in Monthly Action by Takano Ichigo. While depicting a high school student's love story, the story is based on a letter from his future self asking him to save his friend who is taking his own life, and the story alternates between the world 10 years later and the present world. The total number of copies sold has exceeded 4 million for the five volumes, and the live-action movie version released in December 2015 was a blockbuster hit, grossing more than 3 billion yen at the box office.

A TV anime adaptation has now been decided. The teaser visual and staff have also been released. Directed by Hirotsugu Hamazaki of "STEINS;GATE" and "Terraformers," script by Yuko Kakihara of "Chihayafuru 2" and "Persona4 the ANIMATION," character design by Nobuteru Yuki of "Apollo of the Hill" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," and production by TMS Entertainment and Telecom Animation Film.


The broadcast will begin in the summer, but a special edition of the story, newly drawn by Ichigo Takano, will appear in the February 25 issue of the monthly action magazine.

In the spring of her second year of high school, Nao received a "letter. The sender of the letter was herself 10 years later. At first, she thought it was a prank, but what was written in the letter happened in reality one after another, and she realized that the "letter" was describing what was going to happen in the future. She falls in love with Sho, a transfer student. And that Sho would die in the winter when I was 17 years old. What can <16 year old Naho> do after learning of <26 year old Naho>'s regrets and wishes for losing Sho?
