Used cell phone "GEO Akiba Store" (former GEO Medialand) reopens as "GEO Mobile Akiba Store" on February 27.
Found on Chuo Dori.
GEO Akiba Store (formerly GEO Medialand), a used cell phone store in front of the station, is closed for renewal.
It will reopen for business on February 27 and will become "Japan's largest mobile pavilion" in the future.
The store opened in July 2014 as Akiba's first GEO store, after a complete renovation of the "Medialand Akihabara" game store. It was operating as a complex store with GEO's general mobile store "Smart&Collection" attached.
[addendum].
After the renovation, the store will be known as "GEO Mobile Akihabara Store" and will always have more than 3,000 used handsets available. This is about three times that of the regular "GEO MOBILE" store, and is said to be one of the largest inventory of used cell phones in Japan. The store has a mobile floor from the 1st to 6th floors, and the 6th floor is an event floor. Special sales and events such as "how to make a money-saving smartphone" lectures will be held regularly.
Business hours are 10:00-22:00, open year-round. To celebrate the renewal, all used cell phones will be 10% off (*up to 3 per customer) until March 6.
Manager's comment: The GEO Mobile Akiba store features an overwhelming amount of used cell phones in stock. We also have many mobile-savvy smartphone consultants and staff who can respond to inbound inquiries. The store has a spacious interior where families and women can easily select products, and it has a select shop-like atmosphere that dispels the image of a second-hand store.
