Best Yuri Anime Popularity Poll Results Announced!　YuruYuri" beat "Sakura Trick" to the 1st place, "Marimeki" and "Stopani" missed the top 3.

Akiba Research Institute's anime portal "Anipota" has been running a poll since February 1, titled "What do you think is the best yuri anime? Here are the final results.

This is a popularity poll project created by a user named Fumitake on February 1. It is a popularity vote for yuri anime of all time. Out of a total of 20 candidate works, the winner was "YuruYuri" with 1672 votes. The series has been extremely popular for its three TV series and OVA seasons, as well as for its solo live shows and other events. Although the yuri element is light, the easy-to-understand couplings and the loose development with gags seem to have attracted support mainly from younger viewers.

Coming in a close second with 1,497 votes was "Sakura Trick. This work is still very popular today because of its depiction of kissing and other sexy yuri scenes. It fought with "YuruYuri" for the top spot until the very end, but was just one step short. However, it was still ahead of the third-place finisher by more than 1,000 votes, clearly establishing its position as one of the "top two. The fierce battle for third place was won by "Pandora in the Red Shell," a new work that just started in January 2016, ahead of old favorites such as "Maria-sama ga Miteru," "Strawberry Panic," and "Blue Flower.
