A new 3.5-inch HDD model with 8TB capacity, the ST8000DM002, is available from Seagate!

Seagate has released the ST8000DM002, a 3.5-inch HDD with 8TB capacity.

The ST8000DM002 is part of Seagate's standard "Desktop HDD" series. Seagate has already released an enterprise model "ST8000NE0001" and a cloud storage model "ST6000AS0002" as 8TB capacity HDDs .

Main specifications include:interface: SATA 6Gps, rpm: 7,200 rpm, cache capacity: 256MB, number of heads: 12, number of platters: 6,maximum transfer rate: 220MB/s, average power consumption during operation: 9W, weight: 780g.
