TV anime "Drifters," produced by Hoods, to start by the end of 2016!　Historical fantasy by Kota Hirano of "HELLSING

A TV anime adaptation of "Drifters" has been announced.

Drifters" is a manga work serialized in Young King Awards by Kota Hirano, known for his "HELLSING" series. The comic has already been published in four volumes and has sold more than 2.4 million copies. The content is a historical fantasy depicting a war that unfolds in a succession of great men and heroes from the East and West, including Shimazu Toyohisa, a warlord from the Warring States period who wandered into another world while defeated in the Battle of Sekigahara.

The anime version is directed by Kenichi Suzuki, written by Hideyuki Kurata, script by Yosuke Kuroda, character design and chief animation director by Ryoji Nakamori, and produced by HOODS DRIFTERS STUDIO. Nobunaga Oda is Naoya Uchida, Yoichi Nasu is Mitsuki Saiga, Seimei Abe is Takahiro Sakurai, Orminu is Shiho Koshimon, Cafeto is Masakazu Nishida, Jeanne d'Arc is Junko Minagawa, Gildoré is Kenji Nomura, Anastasia Nikolaeva Romanova is Junko Kitanishi, Rasputin is Masahiko Tanaka, Toshizo Hijikata is Hiroki Yasumoto, and Murasaki is Mitsuru Miyamoto.

Prior to the start of the broadcast in 2016, the special edition of the original comic book volume 5 with DVD, released on June 6, will include a special edited version of the first two episodes of the anime (36 minutes in length).

<Story
Toyohisa Shimazu, a warlord in the midst of defeat in the Battle of Sekigahara, decides to "abandon the enemy" in order to return his uncle, Yoshihiro Shimazu, to his own country. He wounded an enemy general, Ii Naomasa, but arrived at the destination surrounded by doors where a mysterious man in glasses and a suit named "Murasaki" was waiting for him. In the other world, Toyohisa encounters two warlords of a different era, Nobunaga Oda and Yoichi Nasu.Together with Nobunaga and others, they begin the "Kunitori" to save the oppressed Elves from the Orte Empire and to fight against the Orte. Apart from the Drifters, the Wastes, led by the "Black King," who was sent into this world to exterminate everything, also began their march at the same time. A war of wits begins in an alien world where humans and subhumans coexist!
