Legendary OVA "Furikuri" to be Sequel Produced by Production I.G! Kazuya Tsurumaki is the supervisor and Katsuyuki Motohiro is the general director.

A sequel to the OVA "Furikuri" has been announced.



Production I.G and Gainax produced "Furikuri," a six-volume OVA released in 2000-2001, and Kazuya Tsurumaki, director of the "Evangelion" series, made his directorial debut. Production I.G received the original rights from the original creator, Gainax, in August 2015.

The sequel will be produced jointly by Production I.G and Cartoon Network, Inc. of the United States. Kazuya Tsurumaki will supervise, Katsuyuki Motohiro, who worked on the live-action film "Odoru Daisousasen" and the anime "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass," will be the general director, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who designed the characters in the previous series, will draft the characters, and Hideto Iwai will write the script. The story takes place several years after the time when Naota was active. A new teacher named Haruko appears to a young girl leading an ordinary life. This leads to the town being attacked by a medical mechanika...and so on. Total of 12 episodes.


The series will air in the "Toonami" slot on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim from the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018. Flickr" was dubbed and broadcast by Adult Swim in 2003, and won the Bronze Award in the animation category at the Fantasia Film Festival in Canada that year.
