From the TV anime "Dimension W," it was announced that a new OVA will be included in the BD volume 6 (final volume).

Dimension W" is an anime work based on Yuji Iwahara's manga serialized in Young Gangan. It is a science fiction story set in the near future where "coils" that can extract unlimited energy from the fourth dimension "W" have been put to practical use, and a rogue coil collector pursues the truth of the coils with a mysterious girl. Directed by Kamei Kanta of "Usagi Drop," series composed by Suga Shotaro of "Rinne no Lagrange," character design by Matsutake Tokuyuki of "Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike," and animation production by Studio 3Hz x ORANGE.

On March 21, a review screening of the final episode was held at Shinjuku Wald 9. During the screening, it was announced that a new OVA would be included in the BD volume 6 (final volume), which will be released on August 26. The voice actors also gave a talk. The following is the report.

A review screening of "Dimension W," a near-future sci-fi action anime that has been on air since January, was held at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo on March 21 (Monday, national holiday). The event included select screenings of two episodes (File.02 "Loser" & File.11 "Missing Genesis") chosen by Daisuke Ono acting Kyoma Mabuchi and Rena Ueda acting Mira Yurisaki, a partial advance screening of the final episode File.12 "The Future We've Reached", and a talk show by the cast members. The talk corner was held after the screenings. In the talk corner after the screening, in addition to Ms. Ono and Mr. Ueda, Ken Washizaki, the moderator of the event, and today's secret guest, Yuichi Nakamura, who plays Luzer, took the stage.

When asked why he chose the two episodes screened this time, Ono said, "Because Nakamura-kun came as a secret guest," to which Nakamura replied, "Because this is the episode in which Luther makes his first appearance and in which his true identity is revealed. Ono commented on File.02 "Loozer," saying, "I think it was a story that really condensed the world view of this work. Also, when Loozer appeared, at first I thought he was a robot. His voice was also processed. Nakamura responded, "I think most of you have read the original work by the time you came to the event, but in the original work, the speech balloon that Loozer speaks is written in katakana and kanji, and is expressed in a frightening way. That was one of the reasons why I was talking with Mr. Ono about Luther's voice before recording the dubbing, and we were asking each other if he was going to do such a frightening voice. We were talking about whether he was going to do such a horrifying voice or not.

When asked about Kyoma, Ono answered, "Kyoma looks tough, so I thought I had to give him a voice with a sense of power, or rather, the deepest part of me. But when we were recording the first PV, I asked if I could make him sound younger (laughs). (Laughs.) "It seems I went too far up the age scale," she said, sharing with us the difficulties she had in creating the role. On the other hand, when asked about Mila, Ueda said, "Mila is a robot, but in the course of working with Kyoma-san, she started to express her own feelings, such as the feeling that she has to protect Kyoma-san, and she gradually became able to think for herself. I think he became more and more human. This was difficult for me to play, but I enjoyed the changes that occurred with each episode.

At the end of the event, the speakers commented one by one. Nakamura commented, "When the recording began, I was just starting out, not knowing how the character of Luther would ultimately be portrayed in the anime, so I'm glad that we managed to finish it without a hitch. And since it turned out so wonderfully, I am looking forward to the airing of the final episode with the same feelings as everyone else. I would be happy if there is a Season 2, and even if there is no Rouser in the series, I personally would like to enjoy "Dimension W", so I hope you will continue to support us in the future. Ueda said, "Kyoma and Mira have been living in the past for a long time, but how will they and the other characters around them come to terms with their past selves? If you watch the final episode with that in mind, I think you will enjoy it even more. Mr. Ono said, "Today is the first time for me to be on stage at an event for this work, and I thought it was rare to be at an event where I felt so at home. Also, I was surprised that my favorite people gathered at the event. The actors who came to the event are all people I like. I think it was a very passionate scene, both among the actors and the staff. In the work, there is an expression, "Coil = infinite possibilities," and I truly believe that. The anime has now reached its conclusion, but I personally feel that "Dimension W" has the potential to continue on for many years to come. I hope you will feel the same way after watching the final episode. The screening event ended with each of them sending a passionate message to the fans.
