German beer festival comes to Akiba again in 2016! Akihabara Oktoberfest 2016" at Bellesalle Akihabara from April 1 to 10.

The Akihabara Oktoberfest 2016 will be held at Bellesalle Akihabara from April 1 to 10.

This is the Akihabara version of "Oktoberfest," an outdoor event inspired by the large-scale beer festival held in Munich, Germany. It is organized by the International Food Culture Exchange Association, and two of the six official breweries, Hofbräu and Spaten, which can open stalls at the real Oktoberfest, are participating.

This year's stalls will feature a total of 16 beers, including Hofbräu, a beer created for the royal family; Spaten, a 600-year-old brewery that invented lager beer; Franziskaner, a luxurious beer made with more than 50% wheat in addition to barley; and Flensburger, a dry beer from northern Germany. In particular, Flensburger's spring-only beer "Flühringbock" will be available for the first time in 2016 at this event. In addition, there will be German dishes that go well with beer, such as sausages imported directly from Germany, and stage events (to be announced at a later date). Hours are from 11:00 to 21:00 (from 16:00 on the first day only). Admission is free.

Incidentally, the price range for a regular-size beer is 1,000-1,500 yen, and for a liter-size beer 2,500-3,000 yen. German dishes were available from 500 yen for an individual item and 2,000 yen for an assortment, and B-class gourmet food stalls were also set up.
