Dogs can also hit anime when they walk. Part 16] Three Months and Beyond! KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm

We want to meet more and more anime that excite our hearts, anime that will cheer us up tomorrow, and anime that we will always love! Our anime writers will introduce you to the hottest anime of the moment, regardless of whether they are new releases or long-term favorites.

The theatrical anime "KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm," a.k.a. "Kimpuri," which was created as a spin-off of the idol anime "Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live" for girls, was originally scheduled to be shown for three weeks in 14 theaters.

As of late March, 62 theaters, more than four times the original number, are listed on the official website.

What is so great about it? We will consider the appeal of "Kimpuri," which is still going strong in its third month of release, from the perspective of a newcomer who has seen it for the first time.

It is still hot in its third month of release! Supporting Screenings and Word-of-Mouth

I had never checked out any of the "KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm" films released in theaters. The only thing I remember is that when I saw the news that "5 sets of advance tickets with 5 male characters in the nude are going to be sold," I thought, "What? I thought, "What?

The "Kimpuri" has become an unexpected hit. The cheering screenings have been so hot and exciting that the impression reports of those who have seen it have collapsed into nonsense, and everyone has lost the words to express themselves, tweeting "Kimpuri is good ......" in a chaotic state.

What on earth is going on? We visited Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo, which has been showing the film since January 9, 2016 and is now in its third month of screening.

I was surprised to see the reservation system. There are regular screenings and "Supporting Screening" sessions, and together they are showing as many as eight times a day, from morning to late at night. Particularly popular is the "Supporting Screening" session, which starts around 8:00 p.m. on weekday evenings. That weekday evening session is fully booked a day in advance.

First, view the regular screening. The content is outrageous, with vigorous singing and dancing scenes. The main character (a male) blushes excessively!

The prism show performed by the male prism stars in the film is a combination of figure skating, singing, and dancing, with some battle elements added. The "Prism Jump," a special move, is particularly impressive.

The "Infinite Hug," in which the idols transform infinitely and hug each member of the audience. The "honey kiss," in which honey comes out of their hips. Dragons swell, great swords descend from the sky, and abdominal muscles glow. Clothes burst off when moved or damaged.

The mental landscape of a jumping prismatic star, the imagery of a music video, the illusion of the power of special moves, and the realistic stage all come together in an all-encompassing experience. The fact that this is all seamlessly connected is the amazing thing about anime. It is an extraordinary feat of strength. I finished watching it while holding back my laughter.

Next, I decided to watch the cheering screening. When I entered the venue, I thought, "This is ......! I thought. Even before the screening started, there was a lot of excitement in the hall. It was hot. The temperature was clearly different from that of the regular screenings.

When the preview film started, the place was abuzz with excitement and waves of psyllium shimmered. Oh, no, wait a minute. This is a preview for another film! Everyone came to see "Kimpuri," right?

Without really knowing what I was watching, "Kinpuri" started. The opening corporate logo reads, "Takara Tomy Arts! Thank you!" and every single thank you, and with that tension in the air, the main program began.

There were many different patterns of "cheering" calls in the film. They responded to each and every event, action, and line that occurred on the screen. It was as if they were "talking" to the film. The level of detail was astonishing.

Yes, yes! to which they responded, "Good answer! Cute! Looks delicious! and "No, it's not that bad! and "It's not true!" and "Are you all right? and "No, it's not that! Whenever there was a fake in the play, they responded honestly with "Why? and "Behind you, behind you! and "Behind you, behind you! When it comes to the dance battle scene, they would say, "Hooooo! Hooooo! Waving psylliums, the audience was in high spirits.

On the other hand, he pretends to be an audience member in the movie, and when the news of Obare's dissolution is announced, he screams "Oh no, ......" and turns off his psyllium. When the scene changes, they become the members of Schwarzlose, and fiercely shout "Glorious Schwarz! and "Glorious Schwarz! The ADs on set were busy with their own words of warning, such as, "Now for the recap," and "Now for the second half.

They were just like "supporters" of the work, running alongside it. It was refreshing to see.

The joy of immersing oneself in the present moment and throwing oneself into the work.

After the tour, those who left were all smiles, and they were talking with their companions about their impressions of the tour. I feel better! I hear people say here and there, "I feel so much better! There seem to be some fans who come once or twice a week.

It was a tremendous space, but at the same time, the excitement was strangely well controlled.

Since the old days of "Saint Seiya," it has been a common sight to hear fans screaming at the theater version of a work that has many female fans. However, if they raise their voices, it is often difficult to hear the dialogue, and even female fans naturally want to view their favorite works in a calm and relaxed manner. Many people frown on the idea that it might frighten small children, who are the original target audience. Raising one's voice was never welcomed as a manner of appreciation.

In recent years, "screaming screenings," "screaming nights," and "the most screaming screenings" have been held, where fans who want to scream can do so to their heart's content.

Now, it seems that women's screams have also gained a new form.

When there is a "pattern," it becomes a device that enlivens the stage. The call from the other side of the stage, "Kunitachi-ya! or "Bravo! after the end of a Kabuki play.

I was surprised in many ways, but there was no exclusive atmosphere in the space of the "Kimpuri" cheering screenings. Fans tend to be closed-minded, but "Kimpuri" was open. The fans who were cheering did not deny the fans who were silently watching, and even the newcomers who were rolling their eyes were enjoying the chants of support along with the atmosphere in the theater.

There were even some men in the audience. It may have been uncomfortable with all the screaming women around them, but there was an enthusiastic atmosphere in the venue that anyone who came to enjoy Kimpuri was welcome to join in.

Idols shine with the cheers of their fans

And I truly felt that "idols shine with the cheers of their fans.

It was more interesting and enjoyable to watch the show a second time than the first time, and the characters were more appealing to me when I watched them amidst the enthusiastic cheering than when I watched them quietly.

It is a pleasure to be immersed in the present moment. The pleasure of throwing yourself into the moment. Become one with the images and the work you love, raise your voice, let yourself go, and let the rhythm take over.

Watching anime may be similar to listening to music.

Perhaps cheering for "Kimpuri" is similar to enjoying a live concert. People who like the same thing get together and share the same time. They get excited together. And because it is a movie, you can enjoy the same "stage" over and over again. The fans have succeeded in carving out the enjoyment of being enthusiastic from the live performance. It doesn't matter if there are no good-looking people there in the flesh.

By the end of the show, I felt a little disappointed that I hadn't brought my psyllium. Because when you go to watch a soccer game, even if you are a dweeb, it is more exciting and enjoyable if you wear a uniform and raise your voice with face painting, right?

It should be okay for anime fans to do that kind of thing. The bottom line is that what you enjoy is what wins.

Originally, "Kimpuri" was not a work blessed with a plentiful budget. But the fans cheered and supported it, and word-of-mouth promotion led to it becoming a hit. This kind of muddiness is also desirable.

Before I knew it, I was thinking that I would like to see what happens next in the new film after the last trailer, which was made with such gusto and enthusiasm.

If you are going to see this film now, I recommend that you bring a psyllium and go to a support screening. I think that is the right way to experience this film.

...... "Kimpuri" is good.
