Anime film "GARO the Movie: DIVINE FLAME" unveils new visuals! Mimyu Tomita as Roberto, Leon's younger brother!

New visuals, scene cuts, and new characters and cast members have been announced for the animated film "GARO the Movie -DIVINE FLAME-,"which opens in theaters on May 21 (Sat.).



GARO the Movie -DIVINE FLAME-" is the latest anime following "GARO -Flame Mark-" in 2014 and "GARO -Kouren-No-Moon-" which aired from October 2015 to March 2016, from the adult-oriented special effects series "GARO" which has produced a total of five series since 2005. GARO -Koren no Tsuki-," which aired from October 2015 to March 2016. This completely new animated film takes place four years after "GARO" and features the battle action of Leon and his friends, who are destined to destroy the "horror" demons that lurk in the darkness of this world. The film is directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, written by Yasuko Kobayashi, and produced by MAPPA and Tohoku Shinsha.


The key visual released this time depicts the main character Leon and his friends holding swords in the foreground, and the new character Dario, a demonic knight, Zem, a black knight he wears, and Sarah, who has turned into a horror figure, in the background. The first character to be unveiled is Roberto, the boy floating in the air in the center, who is actually Leon's younger brother and a key player in the film. A sad and painful battle unfolds over this Roberto, based on each character's desire to protect their loved ones and the people they want to protect. The role of Roberto will be played by Mimyu Tomita.

I have been watching GARO for a long time, so I am very happy to be able to be involved in this way!
It was my first time to do postrecording for a movie and I was very nervous, but everyone on set was very kind and I had a lot of fun playing Roberto.
And since this is a completely new film, I think that even those who have never seen GARO before will enjoy it!
I hope everyone will come to the theater!
